Kalamazoo College's Dylan Shearer was named MIAA Men's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week on Monday.
A senior from Milan, Mich. (Milan HS), Shearer set a Kalamazoo pool record and swam the fastest untapered 100 breaststroke time in MIAA history with a :57.89 in the Hornets' 225-32 dual meet win over Olivet on Saturday. He also won the 50 freestyle in :22.60, swam a :25.69 breaststroke split in the 200 medley relay and had a :47.86 split on Kalamazoo's winning 400 freestyle relay team.
Shearer is being honored as Athlete of the Week for the first time this season and third time in his career.
Kalamazoo returns to action at Albion College on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m.
