LAWRENCE, Kansas -Kalamazoo College's Matt Howrey competed in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America's Collegiate National Open Water Championship at Lone Star Lake on Saturday.
Howrey, a sophomore, finished 50th overall with a time of 1:10:03 in the 5K event. His time was sixth best among Division III swimmers.
The Hornets open the 2018-19 season at home against Saginaw Valley State University on Saturday, Oct. 20.
