KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Matt Howrey of the Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team was honored on Tuesday as the ALC Hornet of the Week.
Howrey was victorious in three individual events against Hope over the weekend. The sophomore from Keller, Tx. (Keller HS) won the 1,000 freestyle (10:15.33), 200 breaststroke (2:14.37), and 400 IM (4:17.46). He also finished second in the 200 medley relay to another Kalamazoo relay team.
Following an All-MIAA caliber season, Howrey returned with a stellar first-half of his sophomore season.
This week marks the fourth time, and the second week in a row, that Howrey has been honored by the Athletic Leadership Council.
The swimming and diving teams are back in action next Saturday, Jan. 26 at Alma.
