KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Matt Howrey of the men's swimming and diving team has been named Hornet of the Week by the Kalamazoo College Athletic Leadership Council.
Howrey, a sophomore from Keller, Texas (Keller HS), placed in the top-four in three different events at the MIAA Championships over the weekend.
Howrey finished third in the 400 IM with a time of 4:03.78. He also finihsed fourth in the 200 IM and 1650 freestyle.
He also delivered splits of :58.5 in the 400 medley relay and 1:44.2 in the 800 freestyle relay.
Howrey was an All-MIAA performer during his freshman season that included a win in the 1650 freestyle.
