KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team had split results during the first meet in the new natatorium on Saturday.
Kalamazoo defeated Alma 229-37 and lost 217-78 to Saginaw Valley State University.
The 200 Free Relay posted the top scored time of 1:30.71 during the last event of the day (Tim Karubas, Oliver Tye, Andre Fouque, Daniel Koselka).
Ben Pickrel finished second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.08.
The Hornets had a number of third-place finishes including Zach Butters (200 Free, 1:49.91), JJ Horsfield (100 Breast, 1:02.87), Ben Pickrell (200 Fly, 2:03.73), Ben Pickrell (200 Back, 2:04.23), JJ Horsfield (200 Breast, 2:22.20), and Zach Butters (200 IM, 2:08.62).
The Hornets compete again next week Friday at the MIAA Relays before hosting Illinois Tech on Saturday at 1 p.m.
