KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team swept Adrian College 9-0 in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match Sunday, March 30.

Kalamazoo won all three doubles flights with two of the three being competitive matches. After senior Peter Rothstein and sophomore Robert Hudson won 8-1 at first doubles, Adrian, which won its first MIAA match in three years against Albion yesterday, made Kalamazoo work for its points. Senior Alan Faber and freshman Branden Metzler defeated Michael Mertz and Spencer Georgetti 8-6. Senior Mike Korn and junior David DeSimone won 8-5 at third doubles.

Hudson gave K its fourth match point with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Ryan Delacy at fourth singles. Metzler clinched the match defeating Jordan Verbauwhede 6-1, 6-2 at first singles.

"We played well against a very determined Adrian team," Kalamazoo Head Coach Mark Riley said. "We played solid from the top of the lineup to the bottom. We look forward to our next MIAA match against Calvin."

Kalamazoo improves to 6-5 on the season and will play again Apr. 2 at home against Calvin. The match is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m.
