KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 9-0 win over Wis.-Oshkosh in the Markin Center on Saturday.
Kalamazoo swept the doubles points before winning all six singles matches without dropping a set.
Spencer Navarre and Eric De Witt got things off to a fast start with an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles. Elan Dantus and Branden Metzler followed with an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles. Robert Hudson and David DeSimone completed the sweep with an 8-6 win at No. 1.
Hudson was first off the court in singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3. De Witt followed soon after with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 to clinch the match for the Hornets.
Metzler won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles while DeSimone won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2.
Navarre and Dantus closed out the match with straight set wins at six (6-0, 6-1) and five (6-3, 6-1), respectively.
Ranked No. 11 in the central region, Kalamazoo prepares to face Wabash College (3-2) at home next Saturday, Feb. 21 at 9 a.m.
