Men's Tennis wins 5-4 at Oglethorpe

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team came from behind to win 5-4 at Oglethorpe University on Monday.

Kalamazoo's Spencer Navarre and Eric De Witt won 8-1 at three doubles to put K up early. The host Stormy Petrels proceeded to win at one and two doubles, 9-7 and 8-6, respectively. Kalamazoo led both matches 6-3 but was unable to maintain the lead.

Oglethorpe took a 3-1 lead with a win at five singles. Kalamazoo's Eric DeWitt won 6-2, 6-4 at three singles to cut the deficit back to one before Spencer Navarre evened the match with a 6-4, 6-1 win at four singles.

Oglethorpe regained the lead 4-3 with a win at one singles, but Kalamazoo's  Alberto Ayala came back from down 5-1 in the first set to win 7-6(3), 6-3 at six singles to tie the match. Robert Hudson lifted Kalamazoo to the win with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-1 win in three sets at No. 2.

Kalamazoo improved to 5-4 on the season with the win and faces SCAD Atlanta Tuesday morning.
