KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team defeated Adrian College 5-0 in the MIAA Tournament championship at Stowe Stadium on Friday.

The win gives Kalamazoo the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA III Championships, continuing Kalamazoo's streak as the only team to compete in every national championship since its inception in 1976.

Kalamazoo's David DeSimone and Elan Dantus made quick work at two doubles with an 8-0 win to open the match. One and three singles were very competitive as the Hornets trailed in both matches. Kalamazoo recovered for an 8-5 win at three doubles (Spencer Navarre/Eric De Witt) and a 9-7 win at one doubles (Branden Metzler/Robert Hudson).

Elan Dantus earned Kalamazoo's fourth point with a 6-1, 6-0 win at six singles while Metzler clinched the win with a 6-1, 6-0 win at one singles.

Kalamazoo finishes the regular season ranked No. 10 in the central region with a 15-5 league record. The Hornets will await word on their tournament opponent and location either Sunday or Monday.
