The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team won its season opener 6-3 over Wheaton College on the road Saturday.
Kalamazoo trailed 2-1 after doubles, but won five of the six singles matches for the victory.
Robert Hudson and Eric De Witt won 8-3 at three doubles.
De Witt was the first singles winner (6-4, 6-2) at four followed by Elan Dantus (7-5, 6-1) at three. Branden Metzler clinched win at one singles (6-4, 7-6(0)).
Ricardo DelOlmo-Parrado won 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 at five singles while Skyler Norgaard won 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 at six.
Kalamazoo traveled to Lake Forest College Saturday evening and swept the Foresters 9-0.
Hudson and De Witt won first at three doubles follwed by Metzler/Dantus at one and Spencer Navarre/Parrado at two.
De Witt was the first off the court for Kalamazoo at four singles as the Hornets took all six in straight sets. Metzler, Hudson, Dantus, Parrado and Norgaard were all winners.
Kalamazoo returns to action with its home opener Saturday, Feb. 13 against UW-Whitewater at 10 a.m. Due to ongoing renovations in the Markin Center very limited seating is available.
