Branden Metzler was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Tennis Player of the Week Tuesday afternoon in a release from the conference.
The player of the week award is Metzler's third of the season. He was also named POW Feb. 29 and March 22.
Over the past week, Metzler went an impressive 5-1 in doubles and singles competition. He went 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles while helping lead the Hornets to two team wins and a No. 38 overall ranking in the nation.
With his recent success, Metzler is now 16-1 in singles matches this season and he's 10-0 in his last 10 matches.
Metzler and the Hornets begin the MIAA season on April 5 at Alma.
