TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its 2016 team and individual Academic Awards on Thursday, July 21 and an impressive 10 Kalamazoo College men's tennis players earned individual awards while the team as a whole earned academic recognition.

In order for individuals to be named ITA scholar-athletes, the student-athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of 3.50 or better in the current academic year and have been enrolled at their current institution for at least two semesters.

Alberto Ayala, Alex Cadigan, Elan Dantus, Ricardo DelOlmo-Parrado, Eric De Witt, Guillermo Dominguez-Garcia, Kyle Hahn, Robert Hudson, Skyler Norgaard and Jacob Scott were those honored with individual awards.

For the team as a whole to earn its academic recognition, the program must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.

The men's tennis program is coming off its NCAA record-setting 78th straight MIAA Championship season.
