KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Helping guide the Kalamazoo College men's tennis team to a 2-1 East Coast spring break trip this past week, Allen Vinson was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's men's tennis player of the week Monday afternoon in a release from the league office.
Vinson compiled a perfect 2-0 singles record and supplemented his strong individual performance with a 2-1 record in doubles.
His first win of the week came against the No. 40 College of New Jersey where he won his singles match 6-4, 6-3. He took both his singles and doubles matches against Haverford College and No. 29 New York University in the following two days of play.
Vinson, a sophomore from Tallahassee, Fla., is earning MIAA tennis player of the week honors for the first time in his career.
