KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Daniel Henry of the Kalamazoo College men's tennis team was named Hornet of the Week by the Athletic Leadership Council on Tuesday.
Henry, a junior from Kalamazoo, Mich. (Kalamazoo Central HS), was 2-0 for the week in single matches against No. 12 Sewanee and No. 3 Emory. Each of Henry's singles wins were against top-20 ranked opponents in their respective regions. His 7-6, 4-6, 10-8 victory against Emory was over the No. 41 ranked player in the country.
In addition to his wins in singles, Henry also finished the week with a 1-1 record with his doubles partner Ian Yi. The duo won 8-7(3) at No. 1 doubles against Sewanee.
Henry is now ranked No. 19 in singles in the Central Region and No. 10 in doubles.
The Hornets will begin MIAA play on Wednesday, April 3 as they host Calvin at 4 p.m.
