Men's Tennis Headed to St. Louis for NCAA III Regional

The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team will travel to Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) for the opening rounds of the NCAA III Championships later this week.

The Hornets received a first round bye and are scheduled to play a second round match Friday, May 10 at 2 p.m. Central. Kalamazoo will face the winner of Thursday's first round match between Wisconsin-Whitewater and Principia.

On the other side of the bracket Rose-Hulman faces Illinois Tech in a first round match on Thursday. The winner of that match faces WashU on Friday at 11 a.m. Central.

Friday's second round winners will square off in the third round Saturday at noon Central for a trip to the quarterfinals May 20 in Kalamazoo.

Kalamazoo earned the MIAA's automatic bid to the NCAA's with a 5-0 win over Hope in the MIAA Tournament championship last Saturday at Stowe Stadium.

The Hornets won 5-4 at Wisconsin-Whitewater on Sunday, April 28. Kalamazoo did not face any of the other regional teams this season.

This year marks Kalamazoo's 43rd at the NCAA III Championships. Kalamazoo is the only school to have participated in each of the first 42 national tournaments (1976-2017).
