The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team honored its two seniors on Saturday, May 8. The following is what was read during the senior day ceremony:

Good afternoon and welcome to Stowe Stadium and Kalamazoo College for today's MIAA Tournament championship match. We welcome Hope College, and I thank both teams and recognize the sacrifices as we worked through these difficult times to compete for an MIAA Championship.

We would especially like to thank Becky Hall, Kathleen White, and our entire training staff as we were able to reach this point of the season.

We would like to briefly honor our two seniors as they play their last match at Stowe Stadium. These two student-athletes have been part of many ITA, MIAA Championship, and All-Academic Teams. During their tenure, their teams have had an overall record of 78-22 and an MIAA record of 36-0.

Our first senior is Daniel Henry, a native of Kalamazoo and a computer science major. Daniel is supported by his sister Brittany Johnson, the Bolton family, teammates, other friends, and family. Daniel is a two-time captain, a four-time All-MIAA First Team selection, and has recently received the MIAA Stowe Sportsmanship Award. Daniel's career record in singles and doubles is 120-47; his MIAA record 51-3. Off the court, Daniel has been a President Student Ambassador and has held many work internships. After graduation, Daniel will attend Loyola University School of Law. Congrats, Daniel.

Our second senior is Tytus Metzler from Rockford, Illinois. Tytus is a business major and today is supported by his parents Catsue and Joseph, his brother Branden, the Trautman family, his teammates, and countless others. Tytus is a two-time All-MIAA First Team selection and as a first-year Tytus was the conference Most Valuable Player. Tytus's overall singles and doubles record was 82-33 and an MIAA record of 33-1. Besides his academic and tennis interests, Tytus has enjoyed his time working at the North Pines Church. After graduation, Tytus will work full-time at his church.

To both Tytus and Daniel, we all say thanks.
