Adnan Alousi of the Kalamazoo College men's tennis team was selected as the MIAA Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday (Apr. 24). This is the third time in his career that Alousi has collected player of the week honors, with one coming earlier this season and the other coming last season.

Kalamazoo finished the regular season with two road MIAA matches at Trine (Apr. 19) and Calvin (Apr. 22). The Hornets completed the conference season undefeated to be MIAA Champions after defeating the Thunder 6-3 and the Knights 7-2.

With Gabe Vidinas not playing against Trine, Alousi and Casey Johnson moved into the #1 doubles spot and were victorious 8-1. Alousi also moved to the #2 singles spot and won in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Against Calvin, Alousi and Johnson were back in the #2 doubles spot and defeated the Knights 8-2. Then, Alousi was back in the #3 singles spot and swept his opponent 6-0, 6-0. This regular season, Alousi had the best singles record for the Hornets at 14-6, including a 6-0 record in the MIAA, by mostly playing in the #3 spot. He also went 10-7 (6-0 MIAA) in doubles, including 9-5 with his doubles partner, Johnson.

For his career, Alousi is 29-10 (12-0 MIAA) in singles matches, and 22-19 (13-0 MIAA) in doubles matches. The sophomore was selected to the All-MIAA Second Team in 2022 after finishing 15-4 (6-0 MIAA) in singles and 12-12 (7-0 MIAA) in doubles in his first collegiate season. He was also an MIAA Academic Honor Roll member and an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

The Hornets will now focus on the MIAA Tournament, starting with a semifinal match against the fourth-seeded Thunder on Wednesday (Apr. 27), beginning at 4 p.m. at Stowe Stadium.
