KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team was defeated 5-4 by Calvin University in Kalamzoo's first MIAA match of the season. Calvin improved to 10-2 (2-0 MIAA) with the win.
Kalamazoo led 2-1 after wins at one and two doubles. The Hornets led 4-1 after wins at one and three singles. Calvin came back to tie it with straight set wins at five and six and a three-set win at two. Calvin won the 4-6, 7-6(2), 7-6(4) at four singles to win the match 5-4.
Alex Fleming/Gabe Vidinas won 8-3 at one doubles. Adnan Alousi/Julian Bilbao won 8-7(7) at two doubles.
Vidinas won 6-0, 6-2 at one singles. Fleming won 6-3, 6-1 at three singles.
Kalamazoo returns to conference play Friday, April 5, at Alma.
