Softball drops doubleheader at Hope

The Kalamazoo College softball team lost a pair of MIAA games at Hope on Saturday, 8-0 and 12-1.

In the opener, Hope scored three runs in the first and four runs in the fourth en route to the win. The Flying Dutch had eight hits in the game while limiting Kalamazoo to three.

Madeline Sinkovich had a double while Rayanne Burl and Paige Maguire each singled for Kalamazoo.

In the second game, Hope scored multiple runs in the first, third, fourth, and sixth innings. Kalamazoo scored a run in the first and trailed 3-1 after two innings.

Hope had 17 hits in the game while Kalamazoo had six.

Abby Anderson was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Sinkovich, Burl, Maguire, and Megan Malish each had a single in the game.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Albion College in a doubleheader at Kalamazoo Valley Community College on Wednesday, April 10 at 3:30 p.m.
