GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team lost both games of a doubleheader at Calvin College on Saturday, falling 4-2 in the opener and 10-0 in the second game.

Kalamazoo went up 2-0 in the top of the second. The host Knights scored one in the bottom half and the Hornets carried the 2-1 lead into the fifth before Calvin scored a pair of runs to go ahead 3-2. Kalamazoo had a chance to regain the lead in the sixth, but a runner was thrown out at home and the Hornets left runners on first and third to end the threat. Cavin added another run in the bottom of the sixth to make it 4-2 before closing out the Hornets in the seventh.

Each team had five hits in the contest.

Querubin Dubois and Paige Maguire both went 2-for-3. Megan Malish was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Calvin scored five runs in the top of the first inning of game two before adding at least one run in each of the next four runs en route to a 10-0 win. The Knights had 13 hits in the game while limiting Kalamazoo to just three.

Kennedy Boulton was 2-for-2 while Maddy Sinkovich finished 1-for-3.

Kalamazoo remains on the road as the Hornets travel to Adrian on Tuesday, April 15 for a doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m.
