Softball loses doubleheader at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team lost a pair of games at Adrian College on Wednesday, 4-1 and 9-1.

Adrian scored in each of the first three innings of the opener to take a 4-0 lead. Kalamazoo got on the board with a run in the top of the fifth, but was unable to score again in the 4-1 loss.

Each team had five hits in the game, but the Bulldogs were aided by three Hornet errors.

Maddy Sinkovich, Dana Page, Abby Anderson, Querubin Dubois and Megan Malish each had a single for Kalamazoo.

Adrian scored two runs in the second inning of game two before adding five runs in the top of the third to take a 7-0 lead. Kalamazoo scored one in the bottom half, but Adrian scored two more in the top of the fourth to take the 9-1 advantage before closing out the game after five innings.

Adrian had nine hits in the game while holding Kalamazoo to two. Each team made three errors.

Sinkovich and Page each had a single in the contest.

Kalamazoo returns home to play its first home games on its new softball field on Thursday, April 17 at 3:30 p.m. The Hornets take on the Belles of Saint Mary's College.
