KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team split a doubleheader with Adrian College on Thursday.
Kalamazoo defeated Adrian 5-3 in the first game.
Erin DuRoss earned the win in the circle allowing six hits with one walk and six strikeouts.
Isabella Kirck was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Maddy Sinkovich, Abby Anderson and Emma Patrash each had two hits. Dana Page and Emma Patrash each had a double.
Adrian won the second game 5-4 on a walk off home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
Kalamazoo took a 2-0 lead in the second on Erin DuRoss' home run. Adrian evened the score in the fourth with a two run home run. The Bulldogs pulled ahead in 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth before DuRoss put Kalamazoo back on top with her second two run homer of the game.
A two out walk put the tying run on base for the Bulldogs in the bottom of the seventh before Karissa DeVore hit a 1-2 pitch over the right center fence to end the game.
Kalamazoo outhit Adrian 12-5 in the game. DuRoss led the offensive attack with the two home runs and four RBIs. Isabella Kirck, Maddy Sinkovich and Paige Maguire each had two hits including a double. Querubin Dubois also had two hits in the game.
Kalamazoo returns to action on Saturday, April 18 with a doubleheader at Olivet College.
