KALAMAZOO, Mich. – For the second time in the last four weeks, Erin DuRoss was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Pitcher of the Week Monday afternoon in a release from the league's office.
DuRoss's strong performance on the rubber last Tuesday against Manchester University propelled the Hornets to a sweep and their first two wins of the 2017 season.
In game one of the doubleheader, DuRoss tossed a complete game giving up just one earned run while recording 12 strikeouts, two Ks shy of her career high.
At the plate, she also went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI, helping her cause on the rubber.
A reigning All-MIAA First Team selection, DuRoss has been named the MIAA's Pitcher of the Week three times in her career.
DuRoss and the Hornets begin a 10-game stretch in Florida starting with a game against Lake Forest on March 16.
