LEESBURG, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College softball team split a pair of games Saturday, losing the opener 5-0 to St. Lawrence before defeating Plattsburgh State, 7-6.
St. Lawrence scored all five of its runs over the first three innings while limiting the Hornets to four hits in the shutout.
Isabella Kirck and Ashley Schiffer each had a double in the game.
Kalamazoo took advantage of a six-run second inning against Plattsburgh and held on for the 7-6 win.
Isabella Kirck had a pair of hits and Nori Seita doubled in the win.
The Hornets take Sunday off before facing Worcester State and D'Youville on Monday.
