Softball defeats Hendrix before dropping game to Thomas

CLERMONT, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College softball team defeated Hendrix 8-3 in the first game Tuesday in Florida.

Kalamazoo scored five runs in the first two innings and held off Hendrix as the Warriors made it a 5-3 game after five innings. Kalamazoo added three runs in the sixth for the 8-3 win.

Erin DuRoss was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored while earning the complete game win on the mound. Nori Seita was also 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Kalamazoo lost the final game of its spring trip 8-3 to Thomas College. 

After falling behind 1-0, Kalamazoo scored three runs in the third to take the lead. Thomas responded with seven runs over the next three innings to take the 8-3 win.

Hayleigh Alamo drove in a pair of runs with a double in the third. Alyssa Heitkamp and Anna Majewski each had a pair of hits.

Kalamazoo returns to action on Sunday, March 26 at Benedictine University in Illinois.
