KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team split a doubleheader with Adrian College on Saturday.

Game One

After a scoreless first three innings, Adrian scored three runs in the top of the fourth inning. Kalamazoo responded in the bottom of the fourth with a double by Fiona Summers followed by a home run to left field by Erin DuRoss to make it 3-2 Adrian.

Kalamazoo scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-3 lead, however Adrian came back with three runs in the top of the sixth to regain the lead 6-5. The Bulldogs added another run in the seventh, and while the Hornets threatened in their last at-bat, were unable to push any more runs across.

Erin DuRoss finished 3-for-4 with a single, double and home run. Briana Huisken finished 2-for-3 with a double.

Game Two

Kalamazoo got on the board first with a pair of runs in the top of the third. Adrian scored its only run of the game in the bottom half.

Kalamazoo loaded the bases to lead off the fifth inning before Briana Huisken cleared the bases with a double to increase the Hornets' lead to 5-1.

Liv Knivila came in to pitch in the bottom of the fifth and did not allow a run over the final three innings to earn the save while Erin DuRoss earned the win.

Huisken finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Isabella Kirck, DuRoss and Nori Seita each finished with two hits.
