Softball comes up short against Alma

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team lost to Alma 7-0 and 3-2 in eight innings at home on Monday.

Game One

Alma scored three runs in the second and added a pair of runs in the fifth and seventh innings while keeping Kalamazoo off the board. 

Sammi Luzadre, Hayleigh Alamo, Briana Huisken, Keelin McManus and Alyssa Heitkamp each had a hit for the Hornets.

Game Two

Kalamazoo trailed 2-0 after three innings, but pushed a run across in the fifth and another in the seventh to send the game to extra innings. The Hornets loaded the bases with one out in the top of the eighth, but could not pull ahead. Alma put runners on in the bottom half and scored the game-winner on a single through the left side of the infield.

Andrea MacMichael and Anna Majewski each had two hits in the game. MacMichael, Briana Huisken and Keelin McManus each had a double. 

The Hornets are scheduled to return to action at Trine on Tuesday, April 3 at 3:30 p.m.
