GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team lost 10-2 and 5-3 at Calvin on Wednesday.
Game One
Kalamazoo led 2-1 going into the bottom of the second, but the Knights scored four in the bottom half and four more in the third to take a 9-2 lead. Calvin scored again in the fourth and held the Hornets scoreless in the fifth to end the game.
Ashley Schiffer, Sammi Luzadre, and Nikki Gorder each had a hit in the game. Luzadre also had an RBI.
Game Two
Calvin took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second before Hayleigh Alamo's bases-clearing double in the third put the Hornets up 3-1. Calvin added a run in the fourth and a run in the sixth to even the score at 3-3 before scoring two in the top of the seventh to pull ahead. Kalamazoo loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh before flying out to end the game.
Alamo finished 3-for-4 with the double and three RBIs. Nikki Gorder also had a hit in the game.
Kalamazoo closes out the conference season at Hope on Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m.
