Softball Sweeps Doubleheader at Albion

ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team won both games of a doubleheader at Albion on Thursday.

Game One

Kalamazoo won the opener 10-0 in five innings. The Hornets outhit Albion 10-2 while also taking advantage of seven Albion errors.

Lucy Hart was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Lizzy Rottenberk, Brynna Garden and Kelsey Diekman each had a hit with two RBIs. Garden also had a double.

Sam Moss had two hits, including a double, with two runs scored.

Moss also pitched a complete game 2-hit shutout with three strikeouts.

Game Two

Kalamazoo won game two 14-2 in five innings. Albion scored one in the top of the first, but Kalamazoo scored multiple runs in each of their four innings at the plate, including eight in the bottom of the third. The Hornets had 11 hits compared to four by Albion.

Lizzy Rottenberk was 3-for-3 with an RBI.

Lucy Hart, Brynna Garden and Julia Rambo each had two hits. Hart and Rambo each had a double. Garden drove in three runs.

Sam Moss homered in the third inning.

Jordan Cook earned the win in the circle, striking out four while allowing two runs on four hits in 4.1 innings.

Kalamazoo returns to action Saturday, April 23 with a doubleheader at Olivet.
