Softball Splits Non-Conference Doubleheader at Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College softball team split a pair of non-conference games at Anderson University Saturday afternoon. Kalamazoo won the opener 2-0 before dropping the second game 2-1.

Game One

Kalamazoo outhit Anderson 10-7 in the game en route to a 2-0 win.

Brynna Garden doubled in a run in the third, while Sam Moss has a sacrifice fly RBI in the seventh to complete the scoring.

Lizzy Rottenberk, Sam Moss, Brynna Garden and Julia Rambo each had two hits in the game.

Moss struck out five while scattering seven hits in the complete game shutout.

Game Two

Kalamazoo outhit Anderson 7-5, but left seven runners on base to lose 2-1.

Anderson scored a run in the third. Kalamazoo tied it in the top of the fifth, only to see Anderson regain the lead with a run in the bottom half. Kalamazoo left at least one runner in scoring position in the first and fourth innings.

Lucy Hart and Mackenzie Moore each had two hits for the Hornets. 

Jordan Cook struck out two and walked none while allowing just five hits in the loss.
