Three members of the Kalamazoo College women's basketball team were recognized with MIAA awards as voted on by the league coaches this week.

Perri Nicholson was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Year while Kelsey Adamski (first team) and Emily Lindsay (second team) earned All-MIAA honors.

Nicholson, a senior forward from Three Rivers, Mich. (Three Rivers HS), earned the respect of the league coaches as an undersized post player who disrupted offenses by shutting down many of the top post players in the league. In conference play Nicholson ranked third in the league in blocked shots (1.5/game), fourth in steals (2.0/game) and fifth in rebounding (7.4/game). Offensively she ranked seventh in the league with a 48.6 shooting percentage. In all games this season, Nicholson averaged 9.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game with 46 blocks and 57 steals.

Nicholson is the second player in program history to be named MIAA Defensive Player of the Year (Vanessa Larkin, 2003).

Adamski, a junior point guard from Hickory Corners, Mich. (Gull Lake HS), was named to the All-MIAA First Team in her first season at Kalamazoo College. Adamski led the MIAA in assists in conference games (4.56/game) while ranking second in steals (2.38/game), fifth in minutes played (31.69/game), sixth in scoring (12.8/game) and eighth in three throw percentage (.792). Overall this season, Adamski shared the team lead in scoring with 11.5 points per game with 115 assists and 59 steals.

Lindsay, a senior guard from Davison, Mich. (Davison HS), was selected to the All-MIAA Second Team. In conference games Lindsay ranked fourth in 3-pointers made (1.8/game), eighth in blocked shots (.73/game) and 19th in scoring (10.6/game). Overall Lindsay shared the team lead in scoring with 11.5 points per game while making 51 3-pointers. She also had 41 assists, 24 steals and 17 blocks. Lindsay holds Kalamazoo College records for 3-pointers in a season and a career, and scored her 1,000th point in the final game of the season to finish her career with 1,006 points.

Kalamazoo College finished 16-10 overall and in third place in the MIAA with a 10-6 league record, advancing to the conference tournament for the first time under the four team format.
