Women's Basketball defeated by Mount Union

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team dropped to 1-1 on the season with a 76-49 loss to Mount Union on Saturday.

Mount Union won the opening tip, scored on its first possession and never trailed in the contest.

The visiting Raiders shot 44.3 percent from the field while sinking 7-of-10 free throws. Kalamazoo shot 36.4 percent and was 8-of-20 at the line.

Mount Union outrebounded Kalamazoo 47-29, including 16-8 on the offensive end resulting in a 16-4 advantage in second chance points.

Claire Slaughter and Kelsey Adamski each scored 11 points to lead the Hornets. Slaughter also grabbed three rebounds while Adamski had four rebounds and four assists.

Danielle Simon added seven points with five rebounds while Amanda Moss and Mackenzie Norman each chipped in five points off the bench.

Kalamazoo is off for nearly two weeks before hosting Bluffton University on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m.
