NOTRE DAME, Ind. – In a game dominated by runs Saturday afternoon, the Kalamazoo College women's basketball team's run in the fourth quarter secured a 74-66 win for the Hornets as they traveled to St. Mary's College for their final road Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association contest of the 2015-16 seasaon.

Kalamazoo looked to be in control of the game early as the Hornets jumped out to a 19-12 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Belles took their game to another level in the second quarter.

An 11-2 run beginning at the 8:14 mark of the second quarter pushed St. Mary's ahead with a 27-25 lead and the Belles entered halftime with a 40-32 lead.

The Hornets managed to cut the St. Mary's lead to six by the beginning of the fourth quarter and that's when Kalamazoo's killer instinct kicked in.

Emily Kozal's three point jumper with 3:46 remaining kick started a 12-0 run for Kalamazoo that iced the game for the Hornets down the stretch.

Kozal led the way with a game-high 25 points going 11-of-11 from the free throw line. It's her fourth straight game with 20-plus points.

Kelsey Adamski scored 22 points while Grace Smith scored 12 and racked up seven rebounds.

Claire Slaughter dominated the glass, securing a game-high 14 rebounds, her highest total of the season and her third straight game with 10 or more rebounds.

The Hornets shot just 34.6 percent from the field but made the most of their trips to the free throw line where they went 34-of-42.

Kalamazoo held the Belles to 14.3 percent shooting from three point range.

The Hornets will finish off the 2015-16 regular season at home on Wednesday, Feb. 17 when No. 3 Hope visits Anderson Athletic Center.
