Moss Scores 19 in Loss to Dubuque

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 87-53 to Dubuque in the consolation game of the Charles B. Zimmerman Memorial Tournament on Saturday.

The score was tied 12-12 before Dubuque ended the first quarter with an 8-1 run to take a 20-13 lead. The Spartans led 41-23 at halftime.

Dubuque shot 47.9 percent overall while hitting 11-of-21 3-pointers. Kalamazoo shot 24.6 percent overall while making 4-of-19 3's. The Hornets converted 15-of-24 free throws compared to 6-of-8 for the Spartans. Dubuque outrebounded Kalamazoo 50-43, although the Hornets held a 14-9 edge on the offensive end.

Amanda Moss led Kalamazoo in scoring with a career-high 19 points with three assists.

Kaytlyn Tidey scored 11 points while Eliza McCall scored 10 points with seven rebounds.

Georgie Andrews finished with five points, 11 rebounds, four blocks, three steals, and two assists.

Kalamazoo returns to MIAA action with a home game against Alma on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
