Andrews Scores 24 in Loss at Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 71-56 at Olivet College on Wednesday.

The score was tied 14-14 after the first quarter before Olivet pulled ahead 34-28 heading into halftime.

Kalamazoo cut the deficit to two (48-46) late in the third quarter, but was down 50-46 heading into the fourth. Olivet extended its lead early and pulled away in the middle of the fourth en route to the win.

Olivet shot 48.1 percent overall while hitting 7-of-19 3-pointers. Kalamazoo shot 25.7 percent overall while sinking 5-of-21 3's and 15-of-19 free throws. Kalamazoo held a 43-41 edge in rebounds, including 20-8 on the offensive end.

Georgie Andrews scored a career-high 24 points while grabbing 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. She got to the line often and sank 12-of-15 free throws.

Kaytlyn Tidey scored 13 points with four steals while Amanda Moss scored 11 points with four steals and three assists.

Sierra Fraser scored five points while grabbing 10 rebounds.

Kalamazoo returns to action Saturday, Feb. 9 at Calvin.
