Women's Basketball Falls to Manchester

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team dropped its game against Manchester on Friday evening by a final score of 60-48. 

After a back-and-forth first quarter that ended in a 13-12 Manchester lead, the Spartans took a 23-12 lead into the halftime break. 

Manchester outscored Kalamazoo 20-14 during the third quarter before the Hornets gained a 22-17 scoring edge during the final 10 minutes, but the comeback effort fell short. 

Kalamazoo finished the game shooting 31.6 percent (18-57) from the field and connected on all eight free-throw attempts. 

Manchester held a slight edge in rebounds at 45-42. 

Isabelle Clark led Kalamazoo with 14 points. 

Georgie Andrews and Kaytlyn Tidey each added 10 while Darby Scott contributed eight of her own.

Sierra Fraser led the Hornets on the glass with 10 rebounds. Mya Gough blocked five Manchester shots while grabbing five rebounds. 

Kalamazoo returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Calumet College. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 4 p.m.
