KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team dropped its MIAA opener on Saturday afternoon in a 60-41 loss to Olivet.
The Hornets got out to a hot start on the offensive end as a pair of Isabelle Clark three-pointers assisted in a 10-5 Kalamazoo lead just over five minutes into the game. Olivet rallied to end the first quarter with a 14-12 lead.
After Kalamazoo tied the game with just over seven minutes in the second quarter, Olivet obtained the lead for the remainder of the contest.
The Hornets finished the game shooting 12-41 from the field and converted on five of 13 three-point attempts.
Kalamazoo out-rebounded the Comets 40-34 and held an 11-3 advantage on second-chance points.
Isabelle Clark led the team with 16 points and connected on four of seven three-pointers.
Kylah Davis added eight points in 11 minutes off the bench.
Kaytlyn Tidey tallied seven points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
The Hornets return to play on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at Oberlin. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 6 p.m.
