WYOMING, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team won 68-62 in overtime at Grace Christian University Saturday afternoon.
Kalamazoo led 15-12 after the first quarter, but trailed 28-24 at halftime. The Hornets put up 22 points in the third quarter to retake the lead 46-42. Grace outscored Kalamazoo 17-13 in the fourth sending the game to overtime tied at 59-59. Kalamazoo outscored Grace 9-3 in overtime to secure the non-conference win.
Grace shot 41.1 percent overall while limiting Kalamazoo to 25.4 percent. The Hornets made four more 3-pointers than the Tigers and sank 20-of-29 free throws compared to 8-of-10 for Grace. The Tigers held a 51-40 advantage in rebounds.
Georgie Andrews led Kalamazoo with 22 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Isabelle Clark scored 16 points with six steals and five rebounds. Kaytlyn Tidey added 10 points with five steals. Mya Gough finished with seven points and 10 rebounds.
Kalamazoo returns to conference play next Wednesday, Dec. 18 with a 7:30 p.m. game at Albion.
