Women's Basketball Falls to Calvin

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 70-38 to Calvin University in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play inside the Anderson Athletic Center on Saturday.

The visiting Knights scored the first 10 points of the game and led 27-11 after the first quarter. Calvin outscored Kalamazoo 18-12 in the second quarter to take a 45-23 lead into halftime. 

Calvin outscored Kalamazoo 14-10 in the third and 11-5 in the fourth.

The Knights shot 37.1 percent overall but made 40.7 percent from 3-point range and 13-of-14 free throws. Kalamazoo was held to 23.6 percent overall, 16.7 percent from 3-point range, and made 9-of-14 free throws. Calvin held a 45-38 advantage in rebounding.

Isabelle Clark led Kalamazoo with 12 points and six rebounds on 5-of-8 shooting.

Mya Gough scored eight points with two blocked shots. Georgie Andrews scored four points with a team-high 12 rebounds.

Kalamazoo is back in action Wednesday, Jan. 22 at Saint Mary's.
