KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost in its season finale on Saturday afternoon as the visiting Alma College Scots topped the Hornets 70-58.
The two teams traded baskets for much of the first half as Alma held a slight 19-18 advantage after the first quarter and the game was tied at 34-34 at the halftime break.
The Scots got out to an 8-0 run to begin the second half and led 47-43 at the end of three quarters. Kalamazoo fought back, however, and took the lead less than two minutes into the fourth at 49-47. A 14-2 run by Alma midway through the final quarter gave the visitors a lead that Kalamazoo was unable to overcome.
Kalamazoo finished the game making 21 of its 63 shot attempts. The team converted on seven of 24 three-point tries and made nine of 12 free throws.
The game featured eight tied scores and four lead changes.
Isabelle Clark and senior Sierra Fraser led the team offensively with 15 points each. Fraser also corralled nine rebounds.
Fellow seniors Georgie Andrews and Mya Gough scored 7 points apiece while combining to collect 14 rebounds.
