ALMA, MIch. – The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team traveled to Alma College Saturday afternoon and was handed a 79-52 defeat at the hands of the host Scots.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair. Jackie Brines tallied 10 points and Kaelyn Arlington and Laila Vincent each chipped in six as the Hornets (2-4, 1-1 MIAA) went into halftime facing a three-point deficit, 28-25.
Alma extended its lead to 48-39 at the end of the third quarter and then used a 31-13 fourth-quarter margin to put the game safely out of reach. Vincent paced K with 16 points and added eight rebounds. Arlington notched her third-straight double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Brines finished with 10 points, four rebounds, a block and an assist.
The Hornets will next take to the court on Wednesday, when they travel to Anderson (Ind.) University for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
