Women's Basketball Defeated by Adrian

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team fell to the visiting Adrian College Bulldogs by a score of 68-49 Saturday afternoon at Anderson Athletic Center.

Kalamazoo took its largest lead of the game, 25-20, on a Kylah Davis layup with 5:50 remaining in the second quarter. Adrian regrouped to take a 30-25 lead into the break despite Hornet Christiana Hunt's 10 points off the bench.

The Bulldogs tightened their grip on the lead by outscoring Kalamazoo 15-9 in the third quarter. Holding a 45-34 advantage, Adrian then proceeded to score the first five points of the fourth quarter and the Hornets were unable to slice the margin to under 13 the rest of the way.

Hunt and Laila Vincent each scored 13 points to lead the Hornets (3-9, 1-3 MIAA). Vincent added seven rebounds, three steals and a pair of blocks while Kaytlyn Tidey paced Kalamazoo with eight rebounds and three assists.

Adrian finished the game with advantages in total field-goal percentage, (41-30%), rebounds (44-37), assists (22-6), steals (9-5) and blocks (6-3).

Next up for the Hornets is a 7 p.m. home game on Wednesday against Albion.
