Women's Basketball Falls to Alma

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 79-32 at home to Alma College Saturday afternoon.

Kalamazoo trailed by three midway through the first quarter but trailed by nine (17-8) after the first 10 minutes. Alma took a 36-16 lead into halftime.

The Hornets were down by 15 (44-29) with 4:22 left in the third quarter but managed to score just three points the rest of the way.

Alma shot 43.8 percent overall while making 9-of-27 three-pointers. Kalamazoo was held to 18 percent overall and 3-of-13 three's. The Scots held a 53-41 advantage in rebounds.

Macy Ivins led the Hornets with eight points.

Jackie Brines scored seven points with seven rebounds. Josee Cooke also had seven rebounds to go with three points.

Kalamazoo is back in action at home against Hiram College on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.
