Women's Basketball Drops Road Game at Saint Mary's

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated 83-53 at Saint Mary's College in MIAA play Wednesday night.

The score was tied 11-11 with just under four minutes left in the first quarter when Saint Mary's went on a 14-6 run to close out the quarter up 25-17. The host Belles extended the lead in the second quarter to take a 43-26 lead into halftime.

Saint Mary's went on to outscore Kalamazoo 19-13 in the third quarter and 21-14 in the fourth leading to the 83-53 final.

Saint Mary's shot 37.3 percent overall while making 10-of-30 three-pointers and 11-of-18 free throws. Kalamazoo shot 23.6 percent overall with 4-of-16 three's and 23-of-37 free throws.

Saint Mary's held a 53-51 edge in rebounds, including 21-16 on the offensive end.

Kaelyn Arlington led the Hornets with 21 points and 15 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season and night for her career. Arlington's 21 points were also a career-high at K.

Laila Vincent added 15 points. Sara English finished with seven.

Kalamazoo is back in action Saturday, Jan. 7 at Adrian.
