KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost its home finale 82-45 to No. 23 Calvin University Wednesday night inside Anderson Athletic Center.
Kalamazoo trailed by just five (16-11) at the end of the first quarter. Calvin scored the first seven points of the second quarter and led by 18 (40-22) at halftime.
Calvin shot 47.2 percent overall while limiting Kalamazoo to 27.6 percent. Calvin made just 3-of-22 three-point attempts compared to 2-of-9 by Kalamazoo. Calvin was 11-of-14 at the free throw line. Kalamazoo made 11-of-19. Calvin held a 49-34 advantage in rebounds, including 12-8 on the offensive end.
Laila Vincent led the Hornets with 13 points and six rebounds.
Jackie Brines finished with 11 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Kylah Davis scored six points with eight rebounds.
Kalamazoo wraps up the 2022-23 season on Saturday at Hope College.
