Women's Basketball Falls at Northwestern Ohio

LIMA, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated 101-66 in non-conference play at the University of Northwestern Ohio on Tuesday.

Kalamazoo fell behind early and trailed 22-15 at the end of the first quarter. The Hornets were down five (25-20) with 6:51 left in the second quarter before the host Racers extended the lead to 48-35 at halftime. UNO built the lead up in the second half leading to the 101-66 final.

UNO shot 51.5 percent overall while holding Kalamazoo to 37.5 percent. Kalamazoo held a 40-33 advantage in rebounds, including 12-5 on the offensive end.

Ruby Hogan scored a career-high 19 points with four rebounds and three assists.

Sara English scored 19 points with three rebounds and two assists. Jordan Wesaw added 14 points with nine rebounds. Jackie Brines scored seven points with six rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Defiance on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m.
