Kaelyn Arlington of the Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was named the SAAC Women's Hornet of the Week on Wednesday (Jan. 3).
The Hornets finished 2023 with two games in Florida before the new year, facing Endicott and Clarkson on Dec. 27-28. Kalamazoo fell to the Gulls 68-43 before defeating the Golden Knights 57-44.
Arlington averaged 11.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in the two games down in Florida while adding three blocks, two assists, and a steal. She scored 14 points against Endicott with nine rebounds, three blocks, an assist, and a steal and then went for 10 rebounds, eight points, and an assist against Clarkson for the team's third win of the season. Arlington is leading the Hornets with 8.9 rebounds per game this season while adding 8.6 points and two double-doubles in 11 games.
Kalamazoo will continue conference play with a road game at Saint Mary's on Wednesday (Jan. 3) and hosting Calvin on Saturday (Dec. 6).
