ROANOKE, Va. – The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team fell 20-2 at Roanoke College Monday evening.
Kalamazoo fell behind 9-0 in the first ten minutes of the game. Freshman Anika Sproull scored Kalamazoo's lone first half goal at the 18:46 mark.
In the second half, Roanoke scored the first five goals. Freshman Nicole Huff scored the game's final goal with 4:34 left in regulation. Kalamazoo freshman goalie Gina Scala made seven saves in the loss.
As a team, the Hornets picked up 20 ground balls while Roanoke earned 38. Roanoke also held a slight advantage in clears 15-9.
Kalamazoo did convert 6-7 clear attempts while Roanoke was successful on all nine of its clears.
With the loss, Kalamazoo dips to 2-2 on the season and will play at Thiel Mar. 26.
