Women's Lacrosse falls 12-8 at Alma

ALMA, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team lost 12-8 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Saturday.

The game went back and forth for the majority of the first half until Alma took a three goal lead (7-4) with 1:48 remaining until halftime. Kalamazoo scored with 18 seconds left to trail 7-5 at the break.

Alma scored the first two goals of the second half to go up 9-5. Kalamazoo was never able to get within more than three goals the rest of the way.

Alma held a slight edge in shots (21-19) and draw controls (11-8). The Scots had 16 ground balls to Kalamazoo's eight. Each team was perfect in clear attempts.

Vethania Stravropoulos scored twice on two shot attempts with two draw controls and one ground ball.

Nicole Huff also scored twice on five shot attempts with two ground balls and one draw control.

Anika Sproull, Marissa Dawson, Alivia DuQuet and Clare Jensen each scored once.

Kalamazoo returns to action at Adrian College on Tuesday, April 8 at 7 p.m.
