ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team lost to Thiel College 11-4 on Friday at Augustana.
Thiel led 4-0 midway through the first half before Kalamazoo cut the deficit to two (4-2). The Hornets trailed 5-3 at halftime.
It was still a two goal game (6-4) midway through the second half when Thiel scored twice in the 44th minute to cushion the lead. Thiel added two goals in the final minute of the game as well to make it 11-4.
Anika Sproull led Kalamazoo with three goals in the contest along with three ground balls and two draw controls. Elizabeth Arellano also scored while recording five ground balls.
Kalamazoo (3-3) returns to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. match against host Augustana.
